Description
Women from different backgrounds discuss their reasons for participating in the 2017 Women's March on Washington, in which hundreds of thousands of Americans participated in response to the election of Donald Trump on the day following his inauguration.
Description
"This documentary film is a story about democracy, human rights, and what it means to stand up for your values in America today. On January 21, 2017, hundreds of thousands of women marched on Washington, DC. That same day, hundreds of sister marches took place across the country and around the world. It grew into the largest one-day protest in American history. Shot on location in five U.S. cities, the film shares firsthand experiences of the day from individual participants. From marches in Boston, San Francisco, Oakland, Santa Rosa, and Washington D.C., the film explores several individual women's stories and their motivations to march. For some people, it was their first time marching. For others, it was the continuation of a decades-long fight for human rights, dignity, and justice. For all, it was an opportunity to make their voices heard."--Film website.
