Description
'The Postmaster', is a story of the tender bond that develops between Nandalal, a city bred young man who arrives in a small village as a postmaster and Ratan, a pre-adolescent orphan girl, who is his housekeeper/maid. The second story, 'The Lost Jewels', is about a young wife who is obsessed with jewels and constantly nags her husband for more. The tale of the husband and wife is recounted by the village schoolteacher to a hooded man. The third story 'The conclusion' is a romance that traces the slapstick courtship of a somber young scholar and the high-spirited young woman he hopes to tame.
